Jonathan Severin;

Self-taught artist born in Montreal.

Through my geometric abstractions, I investigate color and its possibilities, I explore its ambiguous and constantly changing nature.

Being greatly influenced by my interest in architecture and modern design , we find in my works simple concepts such as geometry, symmetry, volumes and clean lines.

This simplicity in the form is essential in my opinion   to allow the color to express itself completely, free of references and distraction.

Whether by repetition, contrast, tone, sequencing or transparency,  my goal is to demonstrate with the help of colors and their interactions the changing and unstable nature of color.

The purpose of  my explorations is not to create an effect at all costs,   but rather to reveal to the observer the nature of our perception, _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ color through a visual language,   different and captivating.
